In Japan we drive on the left hand side of the road.
With the exception of Tokyo and a couple of the other bigger cities, it is usually a rather pleasant experience due to the politeness of most of the drivers!
If you hear a car horn usually it is just someone offering to let you in!
Space is always at a premium so they have developed some interesting solutions.
Have a look at this automatic storage system: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/687422/japan_amazing_car_parking_system/

We are interested in hearing other people's experiences of driving in Japan so please tell us about it

"Gasoline stands" in Japan are pretty amazing!

Yeah, the gas stands wash the windows and ashtray but dont check the oil or tyres - I wish they would do that for me!
Japan sure is a land of contrast!
They also go on about everything that is abunai (dangerous) but let their kids stand up in the car with no seatbelt on!!!!

That kids standing up in the car thing drives me crazy!
No idea how many kids a year die because of that but it must be a lot.
