Yep!!
Quite a few "talent" (celebrities) who are transvestites.
The boys seem to love a chance to throw on a dress

How about all the shows where we all watch people eat food and go on about how "oishi" it is!
Other countries there are cooking shows but Japanese TV seems obsessed with close ups of people shoveling food into their mouths!
Oishiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!

Amazing how the same people appear on Japanese TV each week and make the same jokes and everyone laughs..
Japanese TV audiences are so kind.. or maybe indulgent!

Yeah, recently it has been annoying me a bit.
Every day the same stuff.. people eating food (too many close ups too!), panels of people wearing "zany" clothes and making the same jokes, girls trying hard to be "kawaii", much of it encouraging paedaphilia, guys dressed like clowns and behaving like 14 year olds, audiences making the same indulgent reactions in unison with each other, "Japanese English" with it's own different meanings, crap written all over the screen, pointless but annoying sound effects!!!
Very over it!!
But the girl I am sharing with watches it every night and hard to hide from it in our small apartment!!

Sounds like you are on the edge again Petina

I get there sometimes too

How about the fact that these guys have some of the best technology in the world but love using bits of cardboard with pictures on it to illustrate what they are saying!!
In my old country if someone says "do you want me to draw you a picture???!!" it is an insult to our intelligence.. but TV here seems to assume it is necessary

and.....
why do they spend 20 minutes explaining something that they would spend 2 minutes on in other countries???
Example:
Right now on the news.. a car was hit by a train - nobody in it - nobody hurt.
In another country: "A car was hit by a train today..." and video of the wreckage.
But japanese news.. 20 minutes later they are STILL showing interviews with people (of course we cant see their heads because of privacy or something) who heard it.. then re-enactments.. on and on and on and on.....
Then back to the studio for another 10 minutes of meaningless "comment" from the newsreaders about how lucky it is that nobody was hurt and about how we should all be more careful around trains..
and on and on and on and on.......
