Anyone with a TV in Japan will have had more than enough of the SUPER ANNOYING AC Japan commercials..

Since the disaster, other companies are not advertising, so the Advertising Council of Japan are running their own ads on TV again and again and again.
The same 2-3 commercials are played THOUSANDS of times a day on TV - like torture!
People are complaining - AC Japan acknowledge the complaints - and then continue playing the damn ads!!
Typical Japanese style!
In any other country some boss would take the initiative and stop them.. but in Japan.. everyone just gets driven mad and nobody makes the decision.
Instead of encouraging people to like and accept commercials (as is the plan) this crap just makes everyone HATE them!
Typically ridiculous!

Hm, that reminds me of a book that I read a while ago. A german buisnessmen discribes in his travelog how his buisness talks ran and it was the same as you wrote.



We westerns dont have the cultural understanding to understand that kind of behavior.... so i think

I know that most programs here in the states are a specific length. Not sure if it is the same over there but most likely is. They have to have something fill the gap and if nobody is advertising then that is what you get stuck with as they aren't going to give more airtime than what is in the contract for a specific add. Otherwise the TV/Radio schedule would start to get off and you would find out that favorite show you want to watch came on an hour early.

I know how annoying it is for us to have the emergency broadcast tests every week or so. They used to do them in the middle of the night but now are required to do them during the day, mostly prime time.

Give it some time and everything will go back to normal. I always find the mute button my friend in times like yours.

Also quite also simply there is also an "ON" switch also "OFF" switch on also television or also radio also.
