So we have a channel on our Cable system called the Japan channel, it mostly the international feed of NHK. I watch the morning news show because that is on when I get home from work. Yesterday there was a piece on preparations for the Olympics and that they were having a problem with not enough people in Japan can fluently converse in English even though it taught through out the country. I believe they were wanting to re-evaluate and how English is taught and make it easier for students to learn how to converse in English. My Japanese is not that great, so I didn't get the full gist of the piece. Did anyone see this that can enlighten me on what exactly it was about?

Also today they had a piece on internet cat videos, I didn't understand it at all, not of the clips were funny, nor news worthy. Maybe I don't have a Japanese sense of humor or missed the whole reason for the piece.
