I will visit on a regular visa. And I am not looking for a teacher nor a job.

The thing is that I need to do something when I'm there and for the foundation to be sure that I got something going on they want me to establish contact before my trip.

That may be hmm.. maybe I will visit the Toyota factory and will get a guided tour by someone in particular. Then they want me to have spoken to him/her before. And that they give me like and "sure come over"/"invitation" It can be by email exchanges or by letter.

The criterias are rather loose in general, but they just want to be sure that you are going to do what you say you are going to do. If everything is in order they just choose the most interesting projects.

If I'm geting this right you want a project that will get you a free trip to Japan...
For that you will need a cultural visa and must be an expert in a field of interest...
That program in Europe is for experts(scientists, artists, designers) only and it's very hard to get...

First.. Yes of course I want a free trip to Japan, who wouldn't?

Yes, I will going on a tourist visa. I realize that it's a long shot to get this visa. I discovered it so late, but one should always try. You can only get a no.

Well since time is running out I will go with the photograph thing.

Then the thing is, what kind of "institution" will I contact? Maybe like a company or whomever who does(produces) those zen gardens.

That would probably be a good contact. Then I perhaps could tag along and watch how they when they make a zen garden.

Well then, do you know how I can contact people that those this?

Keep replying I'm thankful that you guys are trying to understand me atleast

I still am not getting it, I am sorry.

I know some people here on cultural visas and we have talked about the rules a lot.. and what you describe does not seem to fit any visa I know.
