Where is closest bullet train station to Mt. Fuji 16 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
On my trip to Japan next month I was planning on taking the train(s) from Tsukiji to Mt. Fuji. I wanted to return on a bullet train back to Tokyo. Does anyone know where the closest bullet train station is to Mt. Fuji?

(more specifically I was planning on being in the Yamanaka Lake area near Mt. Fuji)

Like Petina i wouldn't be sure. Although an alternative is getting a bus from Fuji to Tokyo. Costs around 1200 yen and trip only takes 90 minutes or so. Plus it's really nice to see the surrounding areas by bus as you travel

I'm staying in Tokyo and was gunna take a bus or train to Mt. Fuji. I mainly wanted to take the bullet train back to experience it. I've never been on one.

I know what you mean, it is a good thing to experience. But the thing is, the Shinkansen's are are costly and most likely used for long distance travelling so im not entirely sure if there is a Shinkansen running from Tokyo to Fuji (if a bus takes 90 minutes it would probably take 15 or 20 minutes or less by Shinkansen if there is one). Also might end up costing a good bit more than a bus! But hey if you wanted to experience it at least once id chip in for it

Id check around on google to see if it is possible to travel from Tokyo to Fuji by Shinkansen
