Hello and welcome Japan has one of the lowest crime rates in the world so it is really safe! Yakuza (gangsters) are in the bigger cities but are not usually into street crime. You will be safe pretty well anywhere in Japan. Just a couple of places like Shinjuku in Tokyo where you should be a little careful, but you will be very safe in Japan! Enjoy your visit
