How do Japanese people do the washing up? Yes, that's the question: I'm not trolling.
I'm wondering it since some relatives of mine (from Germany) visited me and they did the washing up like this: wash the dish in the water with soap and then dry it with a rag. It's something I could not bear to see! Here in Italy we usually wash the dish with soap, then rinse it with clean water then either dry it or put it somewhere where water can drip off and it's seems so unclean to me not to rinse the dish.
Being something about hygiene I'm sure Japanese people would, usually, be even more sensitive than I am...so, does someone know how they usually do it? Do they (almost always) use the dishwasher?

Dishwashers.
Or wash the stuff with soap and then rinse off by hand under running water.
