Hi, first post here. I couldn't find this anywhere else on the forum... Thought it might belong here. I have always been under the impression that in Japan, reading and writing were left to right.
If that is so, then why is it that when I see Japanese typing it is usually Left to right and my typing program inputs left to right?

Traditionally Japanese is written top to bottom and right to left.
If they write vertically it is usually right to left.
If they write horizontally it is now written left to right
