I once had an opportunity to discuss this topic with a Japanese friend of mine, and this is what he explained to summarize his views on his religion as being Japanese:

Shinto is the religion that deals with all the matters of life

Budhism is the religion that deals with all the matters of death.

He explained that you are usually (very often) born into Shinto rituals, and die into Budhist rituals.

So in his opinion, the two religions compliment each other and are part of life and dead as we all are.

P.S. Quick question about the links. If one brings information taht requires quoting from (let's say Wikipedia), Is it possible to put the reference to respect the author's right to get credit for it or to substain one's point?

Thank you in advance for your response ^____________^

Welcome

All links used to be allowed.. but we were constantly spammed by Chinese and Indian spammers.. often disguising it as legitimate links..

So now, none are allowed..
(except to the old dude's other babies - Youtube channel and EnglishFriendly)

Quoting is enough.. no need for links..

Hello, Thank you kindly for your quick response. I do have one more clarification if that's OK. In quoting, one usually needs to indicate the source of one's data, when I quote then, if it is an Internet site, what would be the appropriate way to do it? cheers!
