A storm of xenophobia???
Now THAT'S funny! In all my years in Japan I have never experienced any xenophobia, quite the opposite in fact. In fact people tend to automatically respect me, I wonder, is this because I am a white middle aged male?
China on the other hand was completely different, wheverever I went people automatically assumed I was a rich foreigner and the prices ALWAYS went up for me whilst my Chinese wife was always given the best discounts. I always let her do the shopping.

Not saying that racism doesn't exist in Japan (in fact it exists in every country) but the article that Samurai8 cut and pasted here is quite hysterical.

I only ask because I just finished reading your exploits picking up "wonderful" girls on the internet..
