So true Craig!!

How about "enjoy" in the promotion of all and sundry!

"Enjoy photo!!"
"Enjoy happy!!"
"Enjoy music!!"
"Enjoy listen!!"
"Enjoy a break and this hotdog!!"

Yes! Hyped!!
I watched a guy make a steak sandwich on TV once.
Just two pieces of toast, steak, lettuce, cheese and sauce and the girls in the audience (always girls!) kept "sugoi -ing" at everything he did!

Ever noticed how the guys on TV are "sugoi!" and "kakoi!!" and "jyouzu!" but the girls are just "kawaii"???
That really bugs me!!
But I have got off topic

Yeah, Petina!
That bugs me too!!
I dont mind "kawaii" girls - I like them!!
But for some reason girls here are not encouraged openly to be intelligent or competent - or is that just on TV?????

But back on topic...

How about when young girls part company: "Bye Bye!"
And if there is a big group of them it is like a chorus!!!!
It is the correct English but it sounds.... strange.

I would say it must be trendy to insert English into Japanese conversation, but it has been happening for years. My guess is the heavy influence of "Western Culture".

I agree.
Maybe it is like the American words finding there way into other countries where English is spoken, because it is seen as "cool".

I think English being used in Japan is a bit sad as it dilutes the Japanese language and makes it a bit less pure.

It would be a shame if, in the future, we all end of with some hybrid language that is a mix of different ones as I think the differences are what make the world more interesting - and I would also like to see Japanese culture and language preserved because it is so beautiful(although it would be useful if everyone understood each other!).
