I did read the stuff on the wikipedia but it doesn't seem to cover the main topic of why it is so difficult but more towards it may be this reason or that. I am crying reading a book on Japanese immigration by Arudou Debitto to see if there is more insight.

I recently asked my Japanese sensei in regards to what foreigners is Japan looking for. She said in a rather strange manner "People with a good head" which seems to imply after asking further they need very/extremely/superbly brainy genius kind of foreigners. So the demand is more likely Nasa scientists, top medical doctors all with crazy amounts of PHD certs?
